I’m Kate Lucey, a technical writer and instructional designer who turns complex information into clear, accurate, and usable content. My work spans technical documentation, user guidance, research-based writing, and instructional materials, with a particular strength in learning unfamiliar technologies quickly and translating them for the people who need to understand and use them.
I’ve worked across aerospace, satellite communications, higher education, and emerging-technology projects, collaborating closely with engineers, subject matter experts, faculty, and researchers. Whether I’m developing technical documentation, synthesizing research, or creating training and learning materials, I focus on clarity, structure, audience needs, and technical accuracy.
My background in librarianship and instructional design strengthens the research and information-architecture side of my work. I’m especially interested in how emerging technologies, AI, and better information design can improve the way complex knowledge is developed, organized, and communicated.
